About Jewish Life
Israel, Judaism, antisemitism, innovation, culture and community: reported with the evidence linked, for Jewish readers and the friends who want to understand.
What we publish
Jewish Life covers Israel and the world, Judaism and Jewish learning, antisemitism and civil rights, Jewish and Israeli science and innovation, philanthropy, culture, food and everyday life, campus life, and the communities that hold it together. We publish daily across seven sections: Israel, Politics, Business, Lifestyle, Celebrity, Community and Advocacy.
Two kinds of work sit side by side. Our own reporting and analysis, where we read across several accounts of a story and say what we think is actually happening.
How we treat other publishers' work
When we point to another publication's reporting we show the headline, a short excerpt and a link, and the link goes to them. We do not reproduce articles, and we do not rewrite somebody else's piece and publish it as our own.
The reader gets one place to see what happened. The publication that did the work gets the reader.
Editorial standards
Everything we publish as reporting is intended to be factually accurate. Where we draw on another outlet's work we say which outlet and link to it, so a reader can check the original rather than take our word for it.
Analysis is labeled as analysis. Where a piece reaches a conclusion that goes beyond what the sources establish, it is written as our reading of the evidence and not as an additional fact.
Jewish Life is produced with a technology-assisted editorial system under standards set and maintained by our editorial team, and every piece remains subject to review, correction and withdrawal.
What we are not
We report what happened and link the evidence. Where a claim is disputed or an allegation is unproven we say so, and analysis and opinion are always labelled as such.
We are not affiliated with any government, political party, denomination or advocacy group, and we do not accept payment for coverage. Any sponsored content is labelled as sponsored.
Bylines
Every article carries a byline. Work produced by the newsroom rather than an individual contributor is published under the Jewish Life Staff byline.
Contact and corrections
We correct factual errors, and we would rather hear about one from you than leave it standing.
For corrections, editorial inquiries, rights, or to tell us we have linked to you in a way you would rather we did not, email editor@jewishlife.net with a link to the piece. Where a correction changes the substance of an article, we note the change on the article itself.
